ATS systems scan finance resumes for specific accounting standards, software platforms, and measurable business outcomes. Here's how to make yours pass and impress.
Check My Resume Score (Free) →Open with your qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), years of post-qualified experience, sectors, and one headline achievement — e.g. "reduced monthly close cycle from 12 to 5 days" or "led $50M budget planning process for FTSE 250 division".
List finance functions (FP&A, treasury, reporting), systems (SAP, Oracle), and accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP). ATS scans this section first — include full names alongside abbreviations.
Every bullet point should contain a number: budget size, team headcount, cost savings, revenue, or efficiency improvements. "Managed $120M operating budget across 4 business units, delivering 3% under-spend" is far stronger than "managed budgets".
List your accountancy qualification, the awarding body, and the year of completion. Mention any ongoing CPD or specialist certificates (e.g. CFA Level II, AMCT for treasury roles).
Paste your resume and a job posting to see exactly which keywords are missing.
